Contracting
ARA delivers major LV and HV electrical installations on industrial manufacturing and processing sites. Our contracting scope covers new plant builds, large infrastructure upgrades, process plant installations, switchboard and MCC replacements, hazardous area electrical works, and automation system installations — the majority carried out on live facilities with active production. All contracting is backed by in-house engineering, so the team building the system understands how it is designed to operate.
Engineering
ARA’s engineering team provides power system design, protection studies, discrimination and fault level analysis, earthing system design, hazardous area classification and electrical design, machine safety engineering to AS 4024, drafting, and technical documentation. Our chartered engineers hold accreditation through Engineers Australia and are engaged on projects where technical decisions carry significant consequences for system performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Automation
ARA provides PLC programming, SCADA integration, process control, instrumentation, motor control, variable speed drive commissioning, and machine automation for manufacturing and processing facilities. Automation is engineered and installed as part of the broader electrical project scope, developed in context with power distribution, machine safety, and the process requirements it needs to support.
Major HV and LV Upgrades
ARA delivers major high-voltage and low-voltage infrastructure upgrades for industrial sites that have grown beyond their existing electrical infrastructure. This covers HV switchgear and substation upgrades, transformer and distribution system modifications, MCC and switchboard replacements, protection scheme redesigns, cable system upgrades, and earthing system improvements — all managed within live operating environments.
Design and Construct
ARA’s design-and-construct model covers electrical design, drafting, panel manufacturing, PLC programming, machine safety engineering, site installation, and commissioning under one delivery arrangement. This works particularly well on process plant and automation projects where engineering, manufacturing, and installation need to be developed in close coordination to achieve a clean commissioning outcome.
Service and Maintenance
ARA provides planned and reactive electrical maintenance for industrial facilities across Melbourne and Victoria. Planned programmes cover switchboard and MCC servicing, thermographic inspection, protection device testing, earth continuity verification, and condition-based assessment. Reactive response covers fault finding, emergency repairs, and supply restoration on live industrial sites.
Switchboard Manufacturing
ARA manufactures custom switchboards, motor control centres, and control panels within our in-house manufacturing facility. All boards are designed and built to AS/NZS 61439, engineered around the specific load profile, fault level, environmental conditions, and operational requirements of the installation. Manufacturing in-house gives us direct control over design quality, build standard, and the integration of protection, control, and drive systems before the board leaves the facility.
